Pastor Idohou Roland

Pastor Idohou Roland was born in South Benin to a family of four children. He started his ministry at the age of 23 in Cotonou serving 5 years as a translator for Divine Grace Ministry. Upon graduating from Living Word Bible School, he moved to Akpakpa where he was trained and ordained under the leadership of Rev. Odege Nnanna at Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Benin. After serving for three years under Rev Odege Nnanna, Pastor Roland was assigned to The Evangelical Presbyterian church Bohicon where he served as Residential Minister for 3 years. In 2008 God led Pastor Roland to start Salem Ministries. Through an orphanage and prison ministry a local church was established. Pastor Roland’s favorite verse comes from the prophet Isaiah: “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.” He invites you to become involved and to support the ministry.

Orphanage

There are many abandoned children in our area. While some have lost their parents to death and tragedy, others have been abandoned simply due to a lack of money. You can help us care for the abandoned and needy children of our community by donating towards practical needs such as food, clothing, education, and school supplies. We appreciate your support.

Discipleship

The Great Commission of Jesus Christ instructs us to go and make disciples of all nations… teaching everything that Jesus commanded. Though our region has a number of believers very few have learned how to be disciples of Jesus. One of our projects is to train spiritually mature disciple makers who can raise the next generation of disciple makers!

Churches.

Currently Salem Ministries has only one local church. But, Pastor Roland has vision to see many more churches established throughout his region. Since the people in the church are very poor Pastor Roland has to work as a tentmaker which takes time and resources. You can help free his time to plant more churches by sponsoring a portion of his salary.
