We uphold these moral standards, which we believe to be in line with the Word of God.
We acknowledge that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and that our salvation is not based on any merit of our own, but solely on God’s grace freely given as a result of Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf. However, we believe that grace is not merely a “closing of God’s eyes” to sin, but His power working within us to overcome sin. We seek in all things to be conformed to the character of Christ, and to walk in victory over such sins as gossip, rage, lies, dishonesty, and anything that does not line up with God’s principles.
However, in the present climate we feel that there are certain issues we need to address directly.
-
God. We acknowledge the God of the Bible, Who manifested Himself in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, as the one and only true God, and we totally renounce the worship of any other deity. Therefore we do not join in “inter-faith” gatherings or dialogue with those of other world religions, nor do we pray to or worship any deity other than the God of the Bible.
-
The Occult. We believe that all aspects of the occult are satanic imitations of the things of God, and that they are totally forbidden to us (Deuteronomy 18:9-12), therefore we do not become involved with any of these things.
-
Human Life. We believe that human life is sacred, and that the giving and taking of it is reserved for God alone. We support the right to life from conception to natural death, and stand against both abortion and euthanasia, whilst at the same time extending loving care to those who have been affected by either of these.
-
Gender. We believe that God created mankind with two genders, male and female, and that (except in extremely rare cases of abnormality) each person’s gender is hard-wired into his/her DNA at conception. We reject the idea that there are more than two genders, or that a person can change his/her gender at will.
-
Marriage. We believe that marriage was instituted by God at the time of creation (Genesis 2:24) and that therefore true marriage is the union of one man and one woman.
-
Sexuality. We believe that the sexual relationship is a holy and beautiful thing designed to be expressed only within the confines of a true marriage, and that therefore any sexual expression that takes place outside of a true marriage is not of God.
